Chinese New Year in Buenos Aires

Chinese New Year in Buenos Aires

According to the Chinese calendar, today, 26th January, begins the Year of the Ox which carries the number of 4707. Tomorrow, more than sixty thousand Chinese inmigrants living in our country celebrate it.

The celebrations start today publicly at 14 hours in Arribeños street with typical rituals, food and a cultural offer that promises to dress the neighborhood with joy. At that time, in China the Year of the Ox will have begun.

The celebration is related to the beginning of the Spring according to the traditional Chinese calendar, hence its official name is “the Spring Festival” in order to differentiate it from the international New Year’s Day.

You are all invited to participate in this celebration and to join the Chinese community in a day of so much rejoicing.

We’ll see you around!
